At the second online briefing held by Hop On Management – the company appointed to oversee affairs at Wang Fuk Court – on Wednesday, the firm said the block suffered damage, and initial estimates showed that renovation works would take around nine months to complete.
But the actual cost and time will be confirmed after a formal tender process.
The firm said that the fire safety system at Wang Chi House requires a comprehensive inspection, maintenance and restoration before it can be used again.
Repairs are also required for the block’s lightning protection, electricity, fixed-line telecommunications and television signalling systems, as well as stairwells and water tanks.
Checks, meanwhile, are required for its surveillance systems and water pipes.
