The 20-year-old American, who won “streamer of the year winner” last year, dressed in an SAR football T-shirt as he interacted with fans and shop keepers, following his every move. Up to 140,000 people were watching his YouTube livestream on Friday morning.
IShowSpeed, sometimes just known as Speed, is known for his dramatic and exaggerated personality. He has over 37 million YouTube followers, stretching from across the world.
Prior to Hong Kong, he travelled across the mainland, including Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu and Chongqing, where he interacted with celebrities, visited a Shaolin temple and took a BYD electric vehicle for a spin – All the while being followed by thousands of fans.
His trip was hailed by Beijing officials and state media as playing a part in cultural exchange between Chinese and Americans.
