Tung Wah College has apologised after mistakenly sending admission offer emails to some 11,000 applicants under the Joint University Programmes Admissions System (JUPAS).
In a statement, the college said it had intended to email successful applicants on Wednesday morning to remind them to confirm their admission eligibility and pay the place-reservation fee before the deadline.
However, the emails were mistakenly sent to all applicants due to human error.
The institution said a clarification email was later sent to all affected applicants, telling them to disregard the message received earlier in the day.
The college advised applicants to refer to the official admission results published by JUPAS.
A crisis management team has been set up by Tung Wah College, and the college said it is reviewing its communication process, email system, and staffing arrangement to prevent a repeat of the incident.
