The Government today announced a first batch of three preapproved information technology onboarding solutions under the Future Innovative Logistics Acceleration Scheme.
Eligible third-party logistics service providers can now apply for funding support in subscribing to or using these solutions. Individual enterprises can receive funding support of up to $2million.
Twenty-six applications were received after providers were earlier invited to apply for their IT onboarding solutions to be included on a white list of preapproved solutions under the scheme.
The Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC), the Logistics & Supply Chain MultiTech R&D Centre and the Airport Authority assessed the applications based on their compatibility with relevant logistics data platforms, functionality, usability, security and project management planning. The three highest-scoring solutions were selected for the first batch of preapproved solutions to be included on the white list.
The Transport & Logistics Bureau said that digitalisation is a key priority for the logistics industry to maintain its competitiveness.
With the availability of preapproved solutions under the scheme, the bureau hopes that service provides will seize the opportunity to digitalise their businesses and explore the benefits offered by logistics data platforms including greater logistics transparency, more efficient supply chain management and trade financing opportunities.
