Search and rescue teams from Hong Kong and the mainland returned to Beijing on Wednesday afternoon after completing their missions in quake-hit Myanmar.
The teams boarded four Chinese Air Force planes at the Myanmar capital Naypyidaw and arrived in Beijing at about 4pm.
The Ministry of Emergency Management held a welcoming ceremony at the Beijing Capital International Airport.
Chief Secretary Eric Chan, Secretary for Security Chris Tang and the Director of Fire Services Andy Yeung were also present at the ceremony.
The officials, together with the SAR team, are expected back in Hong Kong on Wednesday night.
The teams rescued nine people following last month’s massive quake that killed thousands.
