HONG KONG, Jan 29, 2026 – Hong Kong’s workforce is increasingly using artificial intelligence (AI) in daily operations, though concerns over job security persist, according to PwC’s Hong Kong Workforce Hopes and Fears Survey 2025.
The survey found that 61% of respondents in Hong Kong use AI at work, aligning closely with the Asia Pacific average of 64% and exceeding the global average of 54%. Among AI users, 77% reported higher productivity and 75% saw improved work quality, yet only 24% felt greater job security. Daily generative AI users in Hong Kong account for 22%, lagging the regional average of 29%.
Generational responses varied, with Millennials showing the most optimism and Gen Z reporting more confusion and worry. Only 16% of workers plan to change employers over the next year, reflecting a stronger focus on stability, while 44% expect shifts in customer preferences and 40% foresee technological advances as key drivers of workplace change in the next three years.
