Morrison Foerster has released its Global PE Trends 2025 and Outlook for 2026, highlighting a measured recovery in private equity activity worldwide, with Asia expected to play an increasingly prominent role.
The report forecasts that China’s PE market could see gradual recovery in 2026, supported by improving policy sentiment, selective easing, and stabilizing macroeconomic conditions. Domestic and regional capital, including RMB funds and government-backed vehicles, are expected to focus on strategic sectors such as semiconductors, AI, and renewable technologies.
Morrison Foerster also anticipates a modest rebound in exits amid strengthening IPO sentiment in Hong Kong, while Middle Eastern sovereign wealth funds are likely to increase exposure through co-investments and strategic partnerships instead of blind-pool commitments.
