A pedestrian has been killed and about 20 people were injured – some of them seriously – after a minibus mounted the pavement near the Kowloon City Magistrates’ Courts on Sunday.
The accident happened shortly before 6pm.
A 44-year-old pedestrian was reportedly hit by the minibus and suffered multiple injuries.
He was rushed to Kwong Wah Hospital unconsciously and was later declared dead.
Among those injured were the driver of the “red” minibus and its passengers.
The driver was sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.
He has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving causing death.
One of those injured described chaotic scenes after the crash, with some people receiving first aid outside the court and others taken to hospital by ambulance.
