KFC China, a subsidiary of Yum China, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with BYD on April 8 at BYD’s global headquarters in Shenzhen. The partnership will initially integrate KFC’s ‘Car Speed Pickup’ 2.0 smart ordering service into BYD’s Fangchengbao Bao 7 model, with plans to expand to other vehicles.
The collaboration will allow drivers to complete ordering, payment, and pickup scheduling via voice commands while en route. BYD will also connect its fast-charging technology to select KFC drive-thru locations, offering a combined nine-minute charging and dining experience to improve travel and meal efficiency.
KFC’s upgraded ‘Car Speed Pickup’ 2.0 introduces enhanced voice ordering, route optimization, and roadside meal handover, reflecting the brand’s ongoing investment in vehicle-based dining ecosystems in partnership with automakers and navigation providers.
