The SAR’s women’s football team have withdrawn from an ongoing football tournament in Dubai due to increased tensions in the Middle East.
The team arrived in Dubai for the Pink Ladies Cup 2026 on February 25 and were originally scheduled to return to Hong Kong on March 8.
A statement released by the Football Association of Hong Kong, China, on Tuesday said it has informed organisers that the team will withdraw and that their safety is the top priority.
The association also said the team have suspended all outings and are remaining in their hotels to ensure personal safety.
It added that communication will be maintained with the team to understand their needs and make appropriate arrangements accordingly.
