The Hang Seng Index rose 170.68 points, or 0.78 percent, to open at 22,080.44 on Friday.
One of the stronger openings in the region, the index’s rise came after Wall Street stocks rallied for a third straight session on Thursday, shrugging off mixed earnings and signs US trade deals with China and the European Union aren’t imminent.
Across the border, the Shanghai Composite Index opened at 3,300.39, up 3.10 points, or 0.09 percent while the Shenzhen Component Index opened at 9,900.10, up 21.78 points, or 0.22 percent.
In Tokyo, the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average opened at 35,387.67, up 348.52 points, or 0.99 percent.
In Singapore, the Straits Times Index opened at 3,846.85, up 14.93 points, or 0.39 percent.
In Seoul, the Korea Composite Stock Price Index opened at 2,544.59, up 22.26 points, or 0.88 percent. (Xinhua)
