The Fire Services Department is investigating a case involving the discovery of a burnt corpse at a village house in Yuen Long.
Police found the body inside the village house at Tai Tao Tsuen on Sunday.
The burning of what is believed to be a 59-year-old non-Chinese male is suspected to have occurred during a fire at the house on January 29, or the first day of the Lunar New Year.
Officers said the discovery was only made following a report being lodged by the owner of the house at around 2:30pm on Sunday.
The Fire Services Department has set up a task group to investigate the victim’s death and cause of the fire.
