Ant Group has released its 2025 sustainability report, revealing a record research and development investment of RMB 35.03 billion, with R&D spending exceeding 10% of revenue for the fourth consecutive year.
The company said its R&D focus spans foundational AI models, AI-powered payments and lifestyle services, and AI-driven healthcare solutions. Native AI health app Ant AQ reached over 100 million users by February 2026, linking with more than 5,000 mainland medical institutions and hosting AI avatars for roughly 2,000 doctors providing 24/7 online services.
On sustainability, Ant Group achieved operational carbon neutrality for the fifth consecutive year, with Scope 1 and 2 absolute emissions down 55.32% from its baseline year, reaffirming the company’s 2030 net-zero target.
