He made the remarks at the annual Outstanding Teacher Ethics and Conduct Award ceremony.
“In addition to inspiring students’ thinking both in and out of the classroom, teachers should also embrace the opportunities and challenges brought about by the rapid development of technology and artificial intelligence,” Lee said.
“They should use innovative technologies in their teaching to improve classroom interaction and students’ ability to learn independently.”
Aside from extending his congratulations to award-winning educators, Lee also made an appeal to all teachers, saying they bear the responsibility of helping students to cultivate correct values.
“I hope you will continue to uphold professional standards and remain true to the purpose of education… and cultivate talents who possess both moral integrity and patriotism and who will serve as pillars of society for the country and Hong Kong,” he said.
