President Xi Jinping left Beijing on Saturday for the 18th Brics summit in New Delhi at the invitation of the prime minister of the Republic of India, Narendra Modi.
Xi’s entourage includes Cai Qi, a standing committee member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China’s Central Committee and director of the general office of the Central Committee, and Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
According to India’s Ministry of External Affairs, Xi is due to hold face-to-face talks with Modi later on Saturday. (Xinhua & AFP)
