The first round of reservations for the public to board the Shandong aircraft carrier was all snapped up shortly after it opened at 10am.
A naval fleet led by the carrier will be in Hong Kong from July 3 to 7, with public visits scheduled for the weekend.
Visitors will also get to see training demonstrations while onboard.
Of the 10,000 tickets on offer, one fifth is designated for the aircraft carrier, while the rest are for the other two vessels – the guided missile destroyer Zhanjiang and the guided missile frigate Yuncheng.
Bookings will open again at 3pm and 8pm today for the other time slots.
It will be the fleet’s first visit to the SAR.
