The Observatory says it will issue the Strong Wing Signal No. 3 between noon and 2 pm, as the outer circulation of severe tropical storm Wutip bring showers to the coast of Guangdong.
Wutip is expected to make landfall over the Leizhou Peninsula during the day today. It will then move close to the border of Guangdong and Guangxi.
The Observatory said strong winds are expected in the area of the Pearl River Estuary with local winds moderating gradually later tomorrow.
