Hong Kong-based Koln 3D, a medical technology company specializing in tailor-made orthopaedic and metal implants, plans to expand its research efforts into Central Asia and explore the establishment of a factory in the region.
Founder and CEO Edmond Yau Wing-fung said during an interview that the firm would first collaborate with Kazakhstan, including a memorandum of understanding with the National Research Oncology Centre, before gradually exploring opportunities in Uzbekistan and beyond.
The announcement comes ahead of Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu’s early June trip to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, where he will lead the administration’s largest business delegation featuring more than 60 Hong Kong and mainland Chinese entrepreneurs.
