Olympic medallist Siobhan Haughey led the way, defending her women’s 200 metres freestyle title in commanding style.
The star swimmer controlled the race from start to finish and touched in one minute and 54.96 seconds to claim Hong Kong’s first swimming gold of these Games.
She had also won the event at the previous Games in Hangzhou, where she set the Games record.
Two swimmers from the national team completed the podium in second and third, while Haughey’s teammate Gilaine Ma finished fifth.
Meanwhile, Ian Ho added to the SAR’s medal haul with a silver in the men’s 50 metres freestyle, clocking 21.76 seconds.
He finished narrowly behind Korea’s Kim Youngbeom, who took gold in a new Games record.
Hong Kong now has three swimming medals at this edition of the Games, including the silver won in Sunday’s women’s 4×100 metres freestyle relay, a race that also featured Haughey.
