Winnie Hung reached the podium after a strong finish in the women’s lightweight singles sculls final, clocking a time of 7 minutes and 28.54 seconds following a dominant performance in her heat on Wednesday.
Hung finished just over four seconds behind Iran’s Fatemeh Mojallal at the Nagaragawa International Regatta Course, with Thai rower Parisa Chaempudsa rounding out the podium with a time of 7 minutes and 40.61 seconds.
Hung’s medal finish was quickly followed by SAR teammates Cheung Yuen-shan and Leung Wing-wun, who came second in the final of the women’s lightweight double sculls event.
The SAR duo finished with a time of 6 minutes and 59.24 seconds, 5.31 seconds behind Iranian pair Kimia Zarei and Zeinab Norouzi Tazeh Kand.
Japan’s Chika Yonezawa and Chiaka Tomita earned bronze after crossing the line with a result of 6 minutes and 59.27 seconds.
