Former yacht company staff Lam Shun and Pun Hau-yin were found guilty by Magistrate Philip Chan at Kowloon City Courts.
Delivering the verdict, Chan said the two defendants must have known that the person they were helping, identified as “Alex”, had violated the law or was wanted by the police, but still agreed to help him in his attempt to go to Macau “in an urgent and secret manner” on February 24 and 25, 2023.
Although evidence could not confirm that the pair knew the “Alex” they were helping was Choi’s ex-husband and murder suspect Alex Kwong, they are still guilty of the offence, the magistrate said.
Sentencing is set for June 27, and the duo have been remanded in custody.
Kwong, his father and elder brother have been charged with murder and preventing the lawful burial of a body.
Kwong has also been slapped with a 42-month prison term for theft charges.
