The suspension came after a water main in a back alley of Ming Yuen Western Street in North Point burst on Sunday night, leading to a water supply stoppage at multiple buildings in the area.
According to the Home Affairs Department, roughly 2,600 people were affected by the water outage.
Additionally, it said about 130 households at Ming Yuen Centre were affected by flooding in the electrical metre room of the single-block residential building.
The department said care teams have been distributing water to the elderly and affected residents.
Hongkong Electric also said it was providing power banks to those affected as well as emergency lighting equipment, adding that electricity will be restored as soon as it is safe to do so.
