Police said the incident happened at around 6.40 pm, when a taxi reportedly veered into oncoming traffic on Hiram’s Highway and collided head-on with a bus.
The 63-year-old taxi driver and his two passengers were trapped and had to be rescued by firefighters.
The driver was rushed to Tseung Kwan O Hospital, where he was declared dead about two hours later.
The male passenger had shoulder and hand injuries, and the female passenger suffered chest pain. Both are in a stable condition.
