Chief Executive John Lee on Wednesday met the governor of Hainan province Liu Xiaoming at Government House to exchange views on deepening cooperation.
Lee said he was delighted to meet Liu, who led a delegation to the SAR for a tourism and culture promotion event.
With both Hong Kong and Hainan being free trade ports, the CE said the two sides can further leverage their complementary advantages and promote synergistic development, contributing to the country’s high-level opening up.
Lee also welcomed Hainan enterprises to make use of Hong Kong’s capital market, as well as professional and high value-added services, for fundraising and business expansion.
Hong Kong, as a “super connector”, could support mainland companies in going global, he added.
