Both sides traded blows for most of the match until the 13th minute when Argentina leapt ahead with a converted try.
Argentina won 19-12.
In the other semi-final, South Africa bested New Zealand 26-14.
The South Africans dominated most of that match until the Kiwis answered with two tries of their own in the final moments of the game.
On the women’s side, it will be an Oceania showdown with rivals Australia and New Zealand vying for the cup.
Both teams were in full control of their semifinal matches, with Australia dispatching France 21-5 and the defending champions crushing Canada 31-12.
