HONG KONG, March 2, 2026 — Xiaomi held its global launch event in Barcelona on February 28, introducing its latest flagship smartphones including the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Ultra, and the Leica Leitzphone powered by Xiaomi. The event, themed “The new wave of imagery,” showcased the deepened strategic co-creation partnership between Xiaomi and Leica, marking a new milestone in high-end device collaboration.
The Leitzphone, commemorating Leica’s 100th anniversary, debuts with a starting price of €1,999, surpassing Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro Max 1TB model. Featuring premium design and advanced Leica imaging technology, it represents Xiaomi’s highest-end smartphone to date and a major step in its overseas premiumization strategy.
Xiaomi also expanded its AIoT portfolio with the launch of the Xiaomi Pad 8 series, Xiaomi Electric Scooter 6 Ultra, and Xiaomi Watch 5, all positioned in the premium market. The new electric scooter, priced from €799, is the company’s most advanced model, reinforcing Xiaomi’s leadership in Europe’s smart mobility sector. In 2025, Xiaomi’s high-end smartphone sales in Western Europe grew around 40%, with its T-series Pro models accounting for over 55% of sales.
Highlighting its innovation in automotive technology, Xiaomi revealed the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo (Vision GT) concept car, the first VGT designed by a Chinese brand. The concept supercar emphasizes aerodynamics, electrification, and intelligent features, and will be showcased as a physical model at MWC 2026 in Barcelona.
Xiaomi President Lu Weibing also shared progress on the company’s self-developed MiMo AI model, with MiMo V2-Flash gaining top rankings on OpenRouter in early 2026. Looking ahead, Xiaomi plans to invest over €24 billion in R&D over the next five years to strengthen its “Human-Car-Home” ecosystem, combining smartphones, EVs, and smart appliances for a complete intelligent lifestyle offering.
