The Asia Triathlon Sprint Championships will take place on April 5 and 6.
The race will start with a swim at the Central-Wan Chai Waterfront Promenade, followed by cycling around Lung Wo Road and the IFC, before ending the running portion at Tamar Park.
This is the first time the SAR is hosting the Asia Championships and Mixed Relay Championships for adult athletes.
SAR athlete Jason Ng said he hopes to take advantage of home turf to challenge a strong field of competitors.
“I think the Hong Kong team, as a generalisation, we have raced on this course for a handful of times now in the last of couple years, and I think we are beginning to know it quite well now, so I think just the experience on the course will give us a bit of an advantage,” he said.
Other local athletes such as Oscar Coggins, Wong Tsz-to and Hilda Choi will be competing against international contenders from 13 Asian countries and regions.
