Databricks announced the appointment of Simon Davies as Senior Vice President and General Manager for Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) on April 20, 2026, as the company continues to expand in the region.
The data and AI firm reported over 85% year-over-year growth in APJ during its fourth quarter and now employs more than 1,500 people across the region. Databricks will also move into a new 32,000-square-foot Singapore headquarters later this year, quadrupling its current footprint.
Davies, formerly an executive with SAP and Splunk, will oversee the company’s fastest-growing market, driven by rapid AI adoption across financial services, manufacturing, and technology sectors in APJ.
