A 50-year-old social media personality, Zhou Yuan, has sparked widespread debate in mainland China after building a fortune of over 20 million yuan by teaching women how to flirt and project ‘sexual intelligence.’
Zhou rose to online fame with short videos demonstrating exaggerated poses and suggestive eye contact, which drew both ridicule and fascination. Despite criticism, her unique ‘sex quotient’ theory has attracted over 10,000 female students seeking relationship advice.
Her business operates on a tiered revenue model, starting with 9.9 yuan introductory classes and escalating to premium ‘Top Vixen’ courses priced at around HK$100,000. Many affluent but lonely women, including business elites, reportedly view her lessons as a path to finding desirable partners.
Zhou has also developed a full commercial ecosystem around her teachings, running eight companies selling branded lubricants, intimate cosmetic treatments, and other related products. This strategy maximizes spending from students through psychological and physical transformation services.
The courses have sparked controversy, with critics accusing Zhou of running ‘mistress training schools’ and promoting women’s subservience to men. Her top-tier classes even include referral-based commission schemes, drawing comparisons to multi-level marketing practices and raising questions about the commodification of relationships.
