Ant Group reported a surge in its core AI businesses during the Lunar New Year holiday, with Alipay’s ‘AI Pay’ and the Ant A-Fu health app both surpassing 100 million users. The milestone marks the first large-scale commercial use of AI-native payment services globally, with transaction volumes and user numbers exceeding 100 million.
Launched in 2025, Alipay’s AI Pay leverages intelligent agents to facilitate seamless and secure transactions, including voice-activated payments. During the holiday, the service expanded across retail and smart device ecosystems, including Luckin Coffee apps, Rokid AI glasses, and Alibaba’s consumer AI application Qianwen.
The Ant A-Fu app also rapidly climbed to the top of Apple’s App Store in China, driven by a surge in usage from lower-tier cities, and has become the world’s largest health-focused AI application. Ant Group said the growth reflects its strategy of focusing on trusted, high-barrier AI sectors such as payments and healthcare, supported by its recently open-sourced Ring-2.5-1T and LingBot AI models.
