Alipay announced on May 26 that its AI payment infrastructure has processed 300 million AI agent transactions, supporting 95% of general AI frameworks, becoming the world’s first large-scale commercial AI-native payment system. The company also introduced the world’s first AI Wallet for user authorization and management of AI payments, and a Token Pay service for token-based transactions essential to AI operations.
Ant Group CEO Han Xinyi said the rise of AI agents is reshaping commerce, with payments increasingly executed by intelligent agents rather than humans. Alipay’s new offerings are aimed at enabling seamless micro-transactions in content and data services, supporting the long-tail economy and efficient AI-to-AI and AI-to-machine transactions.
The updated payment suite, including AI Wallet, Token Pay, AI Pay, and AI Receive, forms a full-stack AI-native system. Ant Group also expanded its global AI payment solutions through Ant International, focusing on multi-scenario, cross-terminal automatic billing and international security frameworks, while providing token subsidies and zero-rate incentives for AI developers.
