The Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau has called on ticketing platform Cityline to fix errors on tickets for concerts by Coldplay.
In a statement issued late on Saturday, the bureau said Cityline should deal with the matter swiftly so ticket holders would not be affected.
The British band is due to perform at the Kai Tak Sports Park next month.
According to Cityline’s website, the inaccurate information is printed on the “Coldplay: Music Of The Spheres World Tour – delivered by DHL” standing tickets, that cost $1,399.
Cityline said it was extending ticket exchanges and adding locations in Guangzhou and Shenzhen. It also apologised and said it would refund handling fees.
The Consumer Council said it had received 17 complaints as of 7 pm on Saturday.
