Berlin, June 11, 2025 — Xiaomi’s flagship electric vehicle, the SU7 Ultra, has set a new lap record for mass-produced EVs at Germany’s iconic Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit, clocking an impressive time of 7 minutes 4.957 seconds. This achievement outpaces Porsche’s previous record, elevating Xiaomi into the ranks of global high-performance automakers.
The record-breaking performance highlights the SU7 Ultra’s cutting-edge tri-motor powertrain, advanced torque vectoring chassis, and aerodynamic engineering. Xiaomi attributes this success to its relentless pursuit of track-level vehicle performance and its ongoing investment in EV innovation.
Xiaomi also announced a strategic partnership with Nürburgring, becoming a top-tier sponsor and naming one of the corners on the Grand Prix track as “Xiaomi Bend.” The automaker has joined the Nürburgring testing and development programme, signaling a long-term commitment to refining vehicle performance in one of the world’s most demanding testing grounds.
Lei Jun, Founder and Chairman of Xiaomi (1810.HK), shared the news on Weibo and expressed confidence that this milestone is just the beginning. “We will continue to push boundaries and compete with the world’s top auto players on the global stage,” he said.
As Xiaomi ramps up efforts in the electric vehicle sector, this Nürburgring achievement not only boosts brand prestige but also underscores China’s growing presence in the global automotive innovation race.
