The hospital revealed that the nurse’s arm was injured in the incident that happened in a ward on Thursday.
It said other medical staff and security officers were alerted, and reported the case to the police.
The nurse was sent to the Accident and Emergency Department for treatment, and has since been discharged.
“The hospital is highly concerned about the incident, expressed sympathy and rendered necessary support to the nurse,” a Hospital Authority statement read.
“The hospital resolutely adopts a zero-tolerance attitude to any workplace violence and strongly condemns the violent act.”
