Lalamove on April 30 demonstrated the progress of Hong Kong’s “low-altitude economy regulatory sandbox” with a successful cross-harbor drone delivery. A drone transported goods from Hong Kong Science Park to the rooftop of the Tai Po MARS center in about nine minutes, showcasing stable operations in complex urban conditions. The test was witnessed by officials from the Transport and Logistics Bureau and Legislative Council members.

Since last year, Lalamove and drone technology partner Future Yixin Aviation Technology have conducted over 200 drone delivery tests, including 150 beyond-visual-line-of-sight flights. Data from the trials indicate that drone deliveries can cut transport times from 20 minutes to nine minutes and lower per-trip costs by around 40%.
COO Paul Loo said the company aims to expand routes to outlying islands and the Northern Metropolis, enhancing logistics efficiency for SMEs and reducing costs. Lalamove also plans to deploy a combined “vehicle plus drone” delivery model in Southeast Asia, contributing to the growth of the international low-altitude economy ecosystem.
