A 77-year-old man has died after being knocked down by a light goods vehicle in Sheung Shui.
The accident happened after the van apparently lost control and mounted the pavement along the Lung Ma Road at about 7:30 on Saturday evening.
The elderly man was rushed to North District Hospital, where he was certified dead about an hour later.
The police have arrested the 51-year-old van driver on suspicion of dangerous driving causing death.
