Hong Kong’s century-old dim sum institution Lin Heung Lau has officially opened its fourth branch at Hong Kong International Airport’s Terminal 1, marking its first location inside the airport. The new outlet, situated in the non-restricted area of the SkyMart on Level 8, is scheduled to begin operations ahead of the upcoming summer travel peak.
The historic tea house, known for its traditional Cantonese dim sum and nostalgic atmosphere, aims to offer travelers an authentic Hong Kong dining experience before departure or upon arrival. The branch occupies over 13,000 square feet and accommodates more than 300 seats, blending classic craftsmanship with the airport’s modern architectural flow.
Lin Heung Lau’s expansion to the airport follows its established presence in Central, Tsim Sha Tsui, and Mong Kok, each with unique local characteristics. Company representatives said the new branch is designed to serve both local and international passengers, with a menu featuring quick-service dim sum and signature tea house elements tailored for travelers on tight schedules.
The restaurant expects strong demand during the summer holiday season, targeting its role as a “first stop” and “last stop” culinary destination for travelers. The location is also intended to attract visitors from the Greater Bay Area and overseas transit passengers, reinforcing Hong Kong’s culinary heritage on the global stage.
