Virtual insurer OneDegree celebrated its fifth anniversary with a four-day pet carnival in partnership with Hello Kitty from May 8 to 11, 2025, held at AIRSIDE in Kai Tak. Themed around lifelong pet care, the event welcomed over 10,000 attendees and featured Hello Kitty in person, guiding pet owners in stamping commitment pawprints with their furry companions.
The carnival included an adoption zone and four interactive experience areas designed to promote responsible pet ownership. Attendees were invited to sign a ‘Lifetime Commitment Certificate’ to symbolize their promise of lifelong care. Themed game booths and limited-edition merchandise became instant photo spots, with some items selling out on the first day.
Chow Mei-wah, Deputy CEO of OneDegree, said: “By partnering with Hello Kitty, we aim to strengthen public awareness of lifetime responsibility in pet ownership. This event also paves the way for our next growth phase, including our pet care app ‘Companion Diary’ and pet retail expansion.” The campaign boosted downloads of the OneDegree app by over 3,000, topping the App Store’s Health & Fitness category.
Since its launch in 2020, OneDegree has achieved a compound revenue growth rate of 131% and posted its first quarterly profit in 2024. The company’s pet insurance premiums grew 24 times compared to 2020. Its flagship ‘Pet CEO Plan’ offers up to HK$100,000 in annual coverage and includes critical illnesses such as epilepsy, paralysis, and patellar luxation, earning widespread recognition in the market.
