The victory adds to his historic 2023 achievement, when he secured Hong Kong’s first-ever Sanda gold at the World Wushu Championships in Texas.
Sanda, also referred to as Sanshou, is a Chinese combat sport blending traditional kung fu techniques – such as strikes, kicks, throws and grappling – with modern fighting tactics.
The SAR team further showcased its prowess at the biennial event, earning three additional medals.
Sunny Cheung secured silver in the men’s 70-kilos division, while Cai Jia-hao and Chan Tsz-ching added bronze medals to the team’s haul in the men’s over 90-kilogrammes and the women’s 56-kilogrammes respectively.
The biennial world cup saw participation from 26 countries and regions, with nearly 170 athletes competing.
