The English Schools Foundation (ESF) announced on Tuesday it will raise tuition fees by an average of 4.8 percent in the coming academic year.
Parents will have to pay about HK$7,000 to HK$9,000 more per year, depending on the grade their children are in.
The international school group said the increase is linked to continued uncertainty in Hong Kong economy.
“We know that the Hong Kong economy, like that of the world more generally, continues to face uncertainties,” ESF read.
“We honour that trust by controlling our costs and making sure that every dollar, every cent is spent for the benefit of our students and their futures.”
It added that the group has taken into consideration the question of affordability while making sure that teaching quality won’t be affected.
