All tropical cyclone signals were cancelled at 3.40pm on Sunday, as the observatory said Tropical Depression Wutip continued to move further away from Hong Kong.
The forecaster later issued the Strong Monsoon Signal, saying local winds would still occasionally be strong for the rest of the day, reaching gale force on high ground.
The observatory urged the public to stay away from the shoreline and not to engage in water sports.
It also warned that there could be occasional heavy showers on Monday and Tuesday.
